About Ellen
Ellen Söentken has enjoyed her academic education at the University Nyenrode (Bachelor of Business Administration diploma) and at the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam (Master of Science diploma in Social Cultural Sciences, Culture, Organization and Management). She finished her period of study with the thesis “The Choice between the Game and Quality” in which she analyzed the success of ten impressive businesswomen.
After graduation she has made a career in the media as an account manager, sales promoter and eventually a project manager of large multi-media projects at one of the largest publishing firms in the Netherlands. It was then and there that she learned by hit and error the do’s and don’ts of a woman in the political arena in a culture which –eventually- is dominated by men.
In 2002 the moment came that she followed her dream. She couldn't dismiss her entrepreneurial drive any longer and therefore she started her own company in 2002: Söentken Concept & Project management.
She likes to be called upon as a public speaker and trainer in the Netherlands and Belgium. She has written her first book De zeven ondeugden van vrouwelijke managers (second edition july 2007). Her concept The Seven Vices is translated into workshops, speaches and an online archetypes and vices selftest. The workshop ‘The Seven Vices of the Female Executive’ is in English and dutch and elaborates on the 7 Female Vices, the 7 male vices, and also the male and female archetypes. Besides the workshops and speaking engagements companies and individuals can call upon the emancipation and communication expertise of Ellen Söentken MSc.
Her clients come from sectors as ministeries, financials, construction, transportation, fast moving consumer goods, communication, education and healthcare.
